FATAL FALL. (Per Press Association). ■* : ' AUCKLAND, May 27. _ Joseph Vincent, 74 years of age, died m the hospital as a result of a fall from a. cart. MISSING. . GREYMOTJTH, May 27. Patrick Connors is missing from! Granville. He left for work at Halpin's farm on Sunday, but the horse returned late in the afternoon. The river was in high flood. The worst is feared. A CHILD KILLED. THREE OTHERS BADLY HURT, (Per Press Association)PALMERSTON NORTH, May 27. A fatal accident occurred at 'the Bunnythorpe railway crossing this afternoon. A spring cart driven by Ronald Pederson, son of a widow farmer on the Roberts Line, was crossing the line when the New Plymouth train collided with the cart. The horse was killed instantly and the cart was completely wrecked. Jean, the youngest child, aged 8, was decapitated. Alexander, aged fourteen, suffered a fractured skull and left leg fractured and nearly severed. Ronald, aged thirteen, had his skull injured and a thumb fractured. Phyllis, aged fourteen, was thrown clear. Alexander is not expected to recover. The crossing is an open one with a full view. The engine-driver says that he blew the whistle and the children tried to hack the horse off the line, but too late.
ANOTHER CROSSING COLLISION. CHRISTOHURCH, May 27. A collision between a'motor 'bus and a stock train returning to Cln'ifstchurchy occurred last night at the Black Street railway crossing at Ivaia" poi.
