ESTATE ACQUIRED NEAP. RAKATA Mr Leonard "White's ''Langiey'" estate, near Rakaia, is being pmcha'-oa by the Government ior i-okliei -,' settle ment (says "Th« Press"). It is reported that the Sru-rev Hil'is Estate in the Ashburton district has been off sred to the Land Purchase Board:'as a. soldiers' settlement. The price wanted is said to be between £l3 and £l6 per acre.,. The Commissioner of Crown Lands for Canterbury. Mr H. D. M. Haszard, reeentH visited Coldstr'-'am. in connection with the areas purchased by the Government for solders' settlements. Areas 'at Hilton, about ten miles from Temuka, have been also visited 'ov Mr Haszard.
