Your correspondent "Progress" mentions that wo Imve shown little advancement sine® Mr Craigie loft the Mayoral chair, and despite the tact that Mr Craigie is our worthy M-P., would it not be possible to prevail .upon him to come out agai;t and lead our Council in the manner' in which lu* so successfully conducted the town's affairs years ago. If a deputation representative of the community were to Wilis' upon him, the public spirit in Mr Craigie may win the day for the deputation. Much is being made of lie coming visit of R.R..H. the Prince cf "Wales and Lord .Teiiicoc. and while admitting the importance, of their visit and the need of carrying out the necessary functions with dignity and in a. manner worthv of their hi"ii standing, I feel sure I "voice the feelings of a majority of _ the electors, the workers, in saying that their visits are only second in importance to the problems facing the incoming Council.
