The chairman said that the Council's -debit balance at last meeting was' £2B. ~ During the month £486 10s had been rpoeived, the - principal items being: Rates £l4l, Levels Valley road grant i £1.76, Mackenzie County np-keep of , .roads £6o, iloense-t/£lB, sale of old .horse £lo> renjts £ls, interest on rates . £1.4, N dog registration fees £39 The accounts to b e "passed for payment that day. totalled £567, and after paying these there would be a debit balance , of £IOB. He had gone further into the matter 1 of raising a loan for road improvement, and .would suggest that application should be made for a loan as'soon as po<« ; bk». The Waitaki County Council fo'iv warded an invitation to members of tho Levels Council to tour tho Wuitaki County during tho first week of May The invitation was; , accepted with thanks, and it was'.decided to suggest April 28 as a suitable date for the tour.' St. John Ambulance solicited a donation v ot their; funds.—£lo granted. The Tiriiaru \ Technical ; Sclio o l also asked for a renewal.of tho Council's contribution,—£s grahted. The Minister for Public Health wrote thanking tho, Council for tho assistance rendered during the recent world-wide epidemic. In a later lettor the Minister pointed out the importance of a "cleanI tip" weok. a - Mr G. E.
