Mr Segar wrote in respect of war I'ay.—Held over. Suggested street, light, Brunswick Streot (north end'-. The. Manager stated that it was not practicable to place one light there without placing three others in a series in the neighbourhood.—No recommendation. BITS COMMITTEE.

j The Bus Committee reported that Mr J. McKnight had written asking for consideration in respect of damage caused by his horses bolting as a. result of being frightened by one of the Council's buses. Driver Shears wrote that the bolt was not caused by the bus; and the Committee decided not to recognise any liability in the matter. i t was recommended that the offer of T. and J. Thomson to supply trousers for the bus drivers at £1 15s a pair, be accepted. SANITARY. ' The Sanitary Inspector reported. on inspections ho had n.ado during the past fortnight, and gave details of notices served to abate nuisances. LIHRARV COMMITTEE. This Committee recommended that books 10 tho value of £l2 Ms bo purchased . All the reports were adopted. ACCOUNTS. Accounts amounting to £3306 9a were passed for payment, and the Council rose. I
