The first of u triangular series of football competition > took place- today, when Auckland College Grammar School met and defeated the New Plymouth High School by 55 points (13 tries, 5 converted and one pitted goal) to 10 points (two Converted tries). The teams were fairly even in the forwards, whilst in the hacks the local 'team were outclassed. On Monday, Auckland Grammar School and Nelson College meet, and on Wednesday Nelson nests- New Plymouth. WELLINGTON DEFEATS WAI- - . I WELLINGTON, August- 24. Wairarapa Rugby representatives euffe-ed a severe defeat at the hands of Wellington to-day, Wellington winning- tie return macth by 33 points lo 3.
