Tho War Office publishes a message from the Czech leader, statins; that thirty thousand Austro-Gormaiis, with seventy guns and many machine-guns, confront eight thousaud Czechs with six gnus, and urging that . relief be promptly sent.
ALLIES SENDING HELP. NEW YORK, August 21. The New York "Times" Washington correspondent states that it is intimated in official circles that the assistance being sent to the Czocho-Slovaks in the Baikal region will reach them iu timo to thwart the plans of the Gorman and Austrian prisoners and Bolsheviks. Tho Allies are sending the Czech o-Slo-vaks large quantities of arms, ammunition and heavy artillery. Tho correspondent adds that the landing of Jananeso troops at Vladivostok, with General Otnni. as Com-mander-in-Chief of th« Alliel Fores, is confirmed ';>y au official despatch.
