DEFENCE COMMISIONS REPORT. CONFERENCE TO DISCUSS IT. . Per • Press Association "WELLINGTON, August 10. A conference tu consider the recommendations and suggestions of the Defence Expenditure Commission will open at the Defence Headquarters .to-mor-row, under the presidency of MajorGeneral Robin. HE-EXAMINATION AKRANGE- . MENTS. LIST OF C2 AND D TO BE PUBLISHED. Per' Press Association. WELLINGTON. August 20. | The medical re-examination of raservists has bceu a great deal of consideration by the Defence Department. Hitherto the control has been kept by the Director-General of Medical Services, who reviewed the eases put before him and ordered re-examin-ations. Recently a complete reorganisation has been made in the medical side of the headquarters of the various districts,- and it lias been found possible to throw upon the senior medical officer of each district the responsibility for rc-exaininatiojis. In all cases re-, examinations will initiate with tlie Group Commander, to whom the reservist must apply. The District A.D.M.S. will.be the judge whether a lb-examination will take place. The person who is to be examined will be called tip for re-examination through tho_Director of Recruiting. The re- ' examination will be made by a board of two or three members, according to class of case involved, and no man will ?>e dealt with except through that Group Commander who was responsible for tho man as a recruit.
The Defence Commissioner recommended that the list of reservists classed C2 and D should be published for general information. The list of the First Division men in these classifications is being prepared and will be published shortly. Itislikeiy that it will appear in sections, as a complete list cannot be prepared until the C2 Reexamination Board lias finished its work This Board is expected to uudertake its fourth itinerary shortly.
