LONDON MARKETS. Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn. Received 0.19 a.m., Jan. 19th. LONDON, Jan. 17. There was no butter or margerine for distribution this week. No wheat cargoes or parcels are offering, and little is offered on the spot. Flour is firm, none from overseas offering. Oats, peas and beans are in short supply at full rates. Sugar ts unchanged.

CHRTSTCHURCH PRODUCE MARKET. Per Press Association. CHRISTOHUROH, Jan. 18. The weather has been a little more suitable for harvesting during the past few days, being warmer and with more drying winds. The- only grain coming forward is oats, and these are not lyet offering very freely on account of ' the late rains delaying threshing operations. Algerians are the principal I variety offering, and are selling up to 3s Id, country stations. Most of the grain is rather on the light side, due ! to premature ripening through the hot and dry weather in November and the early part of December. Crops that were fed off in spring and will be later in ripening are expected to not only I yield better, but also to furnish heavier samples. There is a fair amount of ryegrass offering, and prices have been somewhat erratic, as somo buyers, who are in want of immediate supplies, have been paying higher prices to fill their requirements than others are willing to give. For good heavy seed, perennial and Italian, 3s to 3s 6d at coun--1 try stations is offered, but in odd cases a higher figure has boon paid. Wesfci <rn Wolths seed has been sold up to 4s. No wheat is yet reported to have changed hands. Some business has been done in autumn-sown onions at £6 ss. country stations, for immediate delivery. SHEEP SKIN VALUATION. The South Canterbury Woolbroken* Association report having held a Government skin valuation on Wednesday last. Large catalogues were submitted, and the following are tho values obtained:— Merino.—Killed, J to full woolled 9d to lljd; J-woollcd up to 7jd; dead. 7Jd to 10Jd.
