CASUALTIES.
A STRANGE DEATH. Per Press' Association. ' NAPIER, Jan, 18. A stevedore .named John McGarry hb death in a strange manner tonight. After-knocking off work he was under the influence of Jiquor, and at S o'olock was found quite dead in Hardinge road, with his head through a picket fence. He had evidently fallen adeep and had been strangled. Several passers by noticed him, but had no idea' he was dead.
