"Mined," however, has now a new significance, since Frightfulness was let loose on the broad waters. It conjures up new mental pictures and ugly ones, too. Similarly, one often hears that people fail to regard a lapse from normal health as serious until their constitution has been undermined. Tho pity of it that it should be so.
