INTERFERENCE WITH OVERSEA TRADE. (Per Press Association^) GREYMOUTH, Oct. 29. A young mail named Pfaff was convicted and fined £5 under the War Regulations for issuing letters intending to interfere with, the proper trading of an oversea vessel. The letters wage found in the possession of two seamen who were arrested and coii'victed for desertion. Notes were giren recommending the seamen to persons in Reefton district for - employment. One note stated that the seamen were leaving, afrunning ship. Thei ship has been publicly stated to be black and connected with the Australian strike. The defence was that there was no intention of any wrongful act, but the letters were .given in good faith tliaD the seamen had been legitimately discharged. :
