SCHOOL FOR MOUNT NESSING.

PROTEST TO EDUCATION BOARD. Two deputations consisting ol ; Mr G. G. Hayter and Mr J. H. Wright (for Mt..Nessing), and Mr Yeatman and Mr W. Risk (tor Chamberlain) waited upon the Education Board in C-hristchurch on Wednesday in connection with a proposed school at Mt Nessing, proposed to be erected on a site not in accordance with the wishes nor the approval of the majority of householders. The Chamberlain deputation pointed out and urged strongly that if the school was erected on the site recently surveyed, it would bo an injustice to them "as it would in all probability close their school; but if put on a site some distance further up the Mt. Nessing road —one desired by a majority of Mt Nessing householders —the Chamberlain could still remain open. The Mt. Nessing deputation protested strongly against the misrepresentation of a minority of householders to the Board, and stated tha.t they,(tho Board), apparently believed that tho recently selected site was in accordance with tiio wishes of the majority, and were surprised when told that the majority of householders knew nothing of it. as it was accomplished secretly. Tho deputations were very well received, and Messrs Mn/.e and Armitage, members of the Board, were asked to meet all the householder of Chamberlain and Mt. Nessing on Tuesday react, on the recently surveyed site, to arrange the matter by public meeting.
