THE PRIZE SCHEDULE. COMPETITIONS AND SPECIAL PRIZES. Timaru A. and P. Association this week issued the prize, schedule for the 52nd show which is to be held on Wednesday and Thursday, October 24 und 25. All entries close on Saturtiay, October 13, and exhibitors are naked to send in their entries as early b-s poGidbl®. The schedule shows that on the second day there will be the following competitions;— "Wool-Classing (open only to pupils nt tending technical classes in South Canterbury, who must when making their entry _ produce a certificate signed by the director of the technical school, certifying how long they havo attended instruction classes) —Class 1. —For pupils who have not attended instruction classes for more than one xear. Class 2. —For pupils who have attended instruction classes for moro than one year. j Trotting pony, for ponies under 14.2 I hands and over 13 hands, ridden by "ooy | or girl Tinder 15 years of age. Prizes to be awarded on speed, style, action, and conformation. ,Trotting pony, for ponies 13 bands and under, ridden by a boy or girl under 14 years of age. Best girl rider under 1-1 years of Ege. No stirrups allowed. Best boy rider under 14 years of age. No stirrups allowed. Pest t-ony over '""irdles, fcr ponies 14 hands or under: to be ridden by a boy or zirl unde r 15 years of age. There will also be a weight guessing competition. The following special and private prizes are offered: — SHEEP. The Association gives champion prizes as under: —£1 for ram of any age, £1 for ewe of any age, in Merino, English Leicester, Border Leicester,

Corriedale, Lincoln, dbuthdown, Romney, and Shropshire classes, but these championships will not be awarded if there are less than three entries. Messrs Blackburne, Smith and Co. (per Guinness and LeCren) give ten gallons of Little's sheep dip to the exhibitor gaining most points in Border Leicester sheep. Messrs McDougall Bros, (per NewZealand Loan Company) give ten gallons of McDougall's dip to the exhibitor gaining most points in English Leicester sheep. Messrs Tripp Bros, give £2 2s for Corriedale ram over 30 months. Messrs Dalgety and Co. give £4 4s ns first prize and £1 Is as second prize for pen of 3 fat wethers. The Canterbury Farmers' Co-opera-tive Association. Ltd., give £3 3s for 3 fat lambs bred by the exhibitor.

The New Zealand Loan Company give £3 3s as first and £2 2s as second prize for 3 fat crossbred wethers or ewes suitable for freezing. The N.Z. Refrigerat'ng Co., Ltd., giv<* £7 7s as fij'st prize and £3 3s as second prize for 3 fat wethers or maiden ewes suitable for export trade. .Messrs Sims, Coop?r and Co. give —os to the exhibitor training most points in fat sheep and lambs. The National Mortgage and Agency Company, give £3 3s. as first ami £2 ,- s - 1 " 3 second prize for pen of 3 fat lambs.

CATTLE.

The Canterbury Farmers' Co-opera-tive Association give £3 3s for dairy cow, any breed. Mr Arthur Hope gives £2 2s towards prizes in Jersey cattle. Mr E. Kelland gives £3 3s to the general prize fund in Shorthorn cattle. The Association gives £2 2s for Shorthorn bull, £2 2s for Hereford hull, £2 2s for Ayrshire bull. £2 2s for Jersey bull, and £2 2s for Friesian bull; but these awards shall not be made if there are less than three entries. The Now Zealand Friesian Association gives £3 3s for Friesian or Friesian cross fat bullock, and a gold medal for most points in Friesian cattle provided there are 20 or more entries. The Association gives a first prize of £2, and a second of £l, for weigh tjudcing competitions. The President (Mr I?. Parry) gives £2 10s towards Hereford and £2 10s towards Shorthorn prizes. HOUSES. Messrs J. Bauaniyiie and Co. give £2 2s as tirst prize lor troop horse. Mr C. L. Orbell gives £2 :2s as sc-cond prize for jumper. Mr "U. \V. Car&wnght gives £1 Is towards prize fund in horsesMr J. S. Rutliertoixl g.ves a £lO 10s cup to the exhibitor gaming most points in draught horses. Mr Thos. Tescheinaber gives £5 us as a. special prize for most points in light horses. The president (Mr R. Parry) gives £5 5s to the exhibitor ga,ining second highest number of points in draught horses.

Messrs Elworthy Bros, give £5 os as first, and £3 3s as second prize, for maiden jumper. The South Canterbury Jockey Club gives £5 os supplementing the first prize in ciass 216. by £3 3s, and the first prize in class 221 by £2 2s, provided there is competition. Mr AY. F. Hamilton gives £5 5s to the general prize fund.

The Canterbury Farmers' Co-opera-tive Association, give £3 3s first prize for mare in foal or with foal at foot.

Messrs A. S. Ehvorthy, H. Ehvorthy, E. R. Guinness, J. Maze, M. F. Maze, C. N. Orbell, and T. R. Rhodes give a. pip valued at 10 guineas, for the best hunter (Class 243). The Association gives—£3 3s and championship ribbon for draught mare. £3 3s and championship ribbon, and R- Irving £1 for draught entire. £~ 2s and championship ribbon for thoroughbred stallion. £2 2s and championship ribbon for hackney stallion. Championship ribbon for hunter. Championship ribbon for harness horse, mare or gelding. Championship ribbon for saddle horses open only to horses competing in the saddle section. The above championship awards will not bo made if there are less than three first prize-takers. PRODUCE. Mr R. H. itnoaes gives £5 as torst prize to tlie exhibitor gaining most points m bread and cooKery. Mr A. G. Hart gives £1 is for most pomts in potatoes. Messrs l'riest and Holdgate give £2 2s to the exhibitor gaining most pomts in agricultural produce.

Mr A. E. G. Rhodes gives special prizes or £1 Is each to first prize takers in butter, classes 276 and 277.

The Atlas Milling Company gives a special prize of £1 Is to the first prize taker in bread. (Class 324.) The Canterbury Farmers' Co-opera-tvo Association give £2 2s special prize for J-cwfc. of coloured potatoes. Messrs Moody, Ann.rnd and Co. give £2 2s for most points in wheat "aqd oats.
