The enemy's artillery is active eastward and northward of Ypres, particularly in the neighbourhood of the "Westhoek-Ypres Stndcn railway. THE FRENCH FRONT. . ENEMY RAID-REPULSED. A French communique states—There was marked reciprocal artillcrying activity last night on most of the Aisne front. Our fire repulsed enemy detachments east of Vanvaillon and west of the California Plateau, who were attempting to approach our lines. GERMANS INCREASING. PARIS, August 8. M. Marcel Hutin states that the Germans have reorganised their troops in the rear of the Flanders front. They have now accumulated more heavy batteries and there is a prospect of renewed big' fighting.
