Mr David Cunningham, 177 . North Street, received word yesterday, from ihe soldiers' parents, that his nephew William Star.k was killed in action on July 21sId. Private Stark was about 30 years of age, and was well known in TimarUj where he had worked as a carpenter for ten or twelve years before leaving bore to join the 21st Reinforcements. His parents live a!o Waikoikoi, Tapanui district.

News has been received that Captain W. H. D. Bell, of King Edward's Horse, oldest sou of Sir Francis Bell, and formerly member for Wellington Suburbs, has been killed in .action.

Mrs Brown, Richmond Street, Waimataitai, has received word that her son, Private C. D. Brown, who was reported wounded ou 20th July, is dangerously ill. Private Brown lel'o with the 22nd Reinforcements.

Mias A. Jubb has receiver! word that Private Cornelius Horgan was killed in action, July 26th. Private Horgan. left Timaru with the 7th ltoiufon-e----nients.

Mrs Cague, St. Andrews, has received word from the Defence Beparxmeniy that her son, Sergeant W. Oague, was admitted to hospital,, wounded and gassed, on July 23ch. News has been* received by Mr 11. Cross, Maungati, that Private It. Dean formerly of Maungati, who left with the Australiain Forces, died of wounds at ilessines on June 9th.

Mrs Pollard, Sfcudholme Street, Waima'te, has been notified that her son, Lionel Neville Pollard, of the Canterbury Infantry, died on July 25 of wounds received in action.

Mr J. Preece, Waihao Downs, has received advice- ithat his son, Rifleman D. J. Preece, who left) Now Zealand with the 15th Reinforcements, and was wounded on Juno 8, hasbeen removed to a convalescent home in Fra-iice. Mt's (3. Prue, Onio Stree'c, Wnimate, has received word~Th.it hor son, Samuel G. Pme, had b"en woimdod and was admitted to hospital on July 20.
