CHJRISTCHUKCH, Aug. 8. At the Addington market tli&ip was B double entry m view of rlio Crand Kational holidays next wtek, and this brought forward the finest collection of prime fat cattle and sheep ever seen in-a public saleyard in the dominion. The attendance was also large. Southland was well represented with boiJi cattle and sheep. There was a sharp advance in the value of beef, the whole yarding averaging over 60s per 100!lis. The top price was £O2 for an exceptionally large and prime shorthorn bidlock sent in by Mr J. Garland (Ben3:etts). and another large and prime liulloek. a Hereford, was sold on behalf of Mr P. Anderson at £47. Many locally bred and fattened bullocks were sold r.t £3O and upwards. There was a great show of extra prime fat sheep, and prices for ordinary prime .wethers showed an advance of about :j----per head. Mr Fred. Hull (Wadding■ton) again topped the market with his CRomney-Shropshire and purebred Shropshire wethers, which sold at -f'7 5s to £l2s 10s. Mi- A. AY. Rutherford junr.
