GERALDINE ROAD BOARD.

MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Geraldine Road Board was iield yesterday. Present—Messrs Flatman (chairman), -O. ~S. Thomson, Mulvihill; Wilkinson, .and Ashby. OVERSEER'S REPORT. The overseer retried in detail on the road words in Hand, crushing work needed, etc. The crusher had woken up all the boulders available, and it could not be kept going with quarried rock. Receipts had been—rates £216 3s 3d, other receipts £l4'lss, total £230 18s 3d. The Waihi river ford on' boundary road —De Renzy's to College— : was m a dangerous state. If it could be done the road should be closed to the public altogether. It was agreed that the road towards Winchester bo shingled when convenient. The' shingling of other roads was lefb to the surveyor, and work on the river ford, Boundary road, was left over for the present.—The remainder of the report was approved. Reference was made to the fact that it had cost the Board £450 to make good the damage done to the road leading to Pipe Clay Cutting by the traction engines drawing clay. The chairman said that with Messrs Wilkinson, _ Thomson and Dyer he had inspected 'the •stone-crushfng. The trouble was that the rock was splitting all ways, but he heard it was coming out better now. Mr Field had no objection to them starting a quarry on -this side of the river, hut that involved carting across to the crusher. GENERAL. A number of minor matters were brought - tinder notice. Mr Mulvihill stated that Mr Warne desired an entrance to his place, and it was agreed to ask Mr Warn© for a suggestion. Mr Wilkinson said that Mr McGarver, asked that a creek near his place be piped.—Overseer to inspect. Mr Ashby said the road between Mr Hose's and Cooper's Creek was getting very bad.
