El£on, D. Fitzgerald (Ashburton), S. McClelland (Timaru). : ; Kews lias been received by Mr T. McClelland, of Winchester, who had been previously advised that his son Sam liad been wounded, that the latter has been wounded severely with. ;shrapnel in the back and in his left liand. He went with the 3rd Reinforcements, and this is the third time he has been wounded. He is evidently pretty bad as he is still in hospital in France. A Word has been received that Private J- S. Clarkson, who was wounded on 7th Ju&e. has now rejoined liis unit. Private Clarkson left with the 7th. Reinforcements, and is about to celebrate his third birthday on active service. He lias been through both the Somme and ,Messines offensives. Second Lieutenant David John Shaw, wounded on June 10th, is a son of Mr arid Mrs J. W .Shaw, of rau, and late of Temuka. He is 24 years of age, and was born at Geraldine. Prior to leaving with the 14th. Reinforcements he was employed as an engineer by Messrs A. and T. Burt, Dunedin. Major H. C. Barclay, R.A.M.0., of "Waimate, who has been second in command of the Devonport Military Hospital, Plymouth, has been aji.pointed to the neurological staff of Netley Hospital, Southampton. Major Barclay was one of the first New Zea- : landers to take part in the war, having joined the Russian armv earlv in J.ulv. 1914. : ' ' Patrick Joseph Dalv (killed) the third son- of Mr P. *G. Dalv, Stands. He was born at Mitcham 24 rears ago, and was a- pupil at the Tllihis school, in which districts - his parents have resided for twenty years Dalv. irbo left New Zealand.
