SOLDIERS FAREWELLED

AT CAVE. I On Thursday last at Cave a presentation, . : and...social, evening was given in honour, of Privates W. JHynclman ancl J. Graham, who were down on final leave.-. •. .There ;was ,a-.very large- attendance and with the floor in splendid order the social was considered one of the best held at Care. Mr (A E. Kerr, who presided; 'made complimentary references to' the departing, soldiers, who were brought, up at Cave and were the sons of widelyknown and highly respected residents of the district. Both soldiers ' had brothers at the front, and he hoped the war would be over ere the wo men reached the firing line; but if this was not the case he knew they would do their duty. Mr W. Gray then presented each of the men-with a safety razor, and in a few appropriate words wished them every success.. _ He made feeling reference to .the trials parents had to put up with at a time like this.
