CLAIMS COMMITTEE. > The claims committee of the Timaru Branch of the' South Canterbury Patriotic AVar Relief So'ciety report that -four meetings 'of the committee have !_ been held during" the_-months ai-iwhieh "'the following-business was'!? transacted: —Grants ranging from.7s. to 10s 6d per week w ere made to 32 dependents of 10 soldiers. Tr-creases of 5s per week were granted J in two cases, and three expiring wero renewed.' Grants amounting to £§3 were made in 5 cases to meet sper-ial needs. 163 cheques amounting to £26t 4s 9d were issued +o 18 soldiers, and dependents of 74 soldiers.
