DIED FROM ILL OSAGE. Per Press Association. GtmiSTGHTJRCH, Sept. 30. John May, residing 23 Cashel fotreet, City, was admitted to tho liospital late last eveing suffering from injuries to h* skull, o-nd ha died there tins morning. At an inquest this afternoon, W. T. marine engineer said that deceased was brought to Dunedin Lodge, Oashel Street, at 10.15 p.m. on Wednesday. He was then semi-conscious. He complained that a man had struck liinx on the jaw and also said " was a dirty dog to kick me." He had a braise at'tli© back of the ear. He was taken to tli© hospital on Fr.'daj; night. The. inquest Tias adjourned.

Emdlay was 36 years ar age, raarried. his wife being in Blenheim. He was a son of Mr Charles Finlay, a retired farmer of'Tiuia-ru, and was working at the International Harvester Company, Christclmi'ch.
