BRITAIN.
LOOKING AHEAD. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) LONDON, Sept. 22. The Board of Trade Committee which has investigated the question of financial facilities for trade, recommends the establishment of a chartered British trade bank with a capital of ten millions. It would not interfere with oxisting banks and financial institutions, but would fill the gap between the Home banks and the colonial British and foreign. It must be equipped with an up-to-date information bureau to ascertain new business openings, etc. Tli ere are strong reasons for the immediate formation of the bank in view of the certainty of the enemy's efforts to regain a position in the world's commerce and finance after the war. ■ There is a possibility that unemployment will bo rife in Bx-itain unless new markets are exploited; therefore it is desirable to ascertain in advance the requirements of foreign countries and the whereabouts of raw material for oiir industries.
