•NEW ZEAL.VXD REFRIGERATING . COMPANY,. SMITHFIELD. On Thursday last a farewell with presentation was made to Mr William .Anderson, who lias been fore-nan of tilie oleo and tallow department at. Sraithiield for some years, and who has now Tieen shifted, on promotion, to the Company's Works at Wauganui. Mr G- W. Slade, the Smithfield Alanager, who presided sad that though lie had not been long at Smithfiald, ho liad perceived Air Anderson's efficiency in Lis position. Ho complimented Alr Anderson on his promotion, and or belialf of the employees, presented him with a "gentleman's dressing case, 'gladstone bag, and ease of pipes, w.shiiig him success in his position and improved health for Airs Anderson, who lws nofc enjoyed good health for some time Air W. W. King, chief clerk, also Fpoke as havnir known Air Andei-son for many years, finding him thoroughly up to.his work and kindly and tactful as regards those under him. Several fellow employees spoks as to the kindly feslings that existed between Air Anderson and his fellow workers, and it "was remarked that the fact of the promotion showed the high op nion the Company had of Air Anderson, while the kincllv words and presentation showed the feeling of good fellowship that existed among his follow workers. Air Anderson feelingly replied, thanking them for the'r gifts, which he was proud of, hut what he- appreciated more even than the gifts, was the kindly remarks abouo him.. The manager called for three hearty cheers and one for Airs Anderson. A remark was made daring the meeting that the Company always knew where to find a good man when they want* 3rm —this 'benhg the third promotion from Smithfield in a very short time— Air Reg- Wi'iin.m*. Air Morgan Evans and now Air Anderson.
