The late Mr James Pithie. of Arundel, who died on May 31. was an nM resident or the district, having been in the Mount Peel district -i-"> years. Mr P.tire, who was universally respected by all who knev.- him. was 7!) years of age. He leaves a widow and five sons. A cable has been received in Auckland stating that Bishop Cleary, of Auckland, arrived safely in Home on Friday on a visit a l limina. to his Holiness the Pope. Bishop Cleary, who i=t accompanied by Father Kehoe. goes from Rome to Great Britain and Ireland. and i« due back in Auckland at the end of tlr > year.
