AIURPHY—GIBSON. A quiet and pretty wedding was solemnised at the church of the Sacred Heart Timaru, on AYcdnesdny, 26th January, when Aliss Nellie Murphy, third daughter of Air and Airs John Murphy, of Timaru, was married to .Mr Alichael Gibson, fourth son of Alr and Airs J. Gibson, of Clarendon, Otago. The ceremony was performed by iho Rev. Father Ryan, and Aliss Donnelly presided at the organ. The oriar-, Mho was given away by her father, looked charming in a. beautiful gown of crenve crope do chine trimmed with lace and pearls, and wore a tulle veil arranged as a mob cap, with a coronet, of orange blossoms. She carried a. bouquet of crenie roses, maiden-hair fern, and white satiii streamers. Afiss Margaret Alnrphy (sistcr of the bride), who attended as bridesmaid, Mas attired in a very pretty frock of shell pink crepe de chine, and wore a black picture hat trimmed with a. beautiful ostrich feather, and large white rose. She carried a. bouquet of pink carnations, maiden-hair fern, and pale pink silk streamers. The bridegroom was attended by Air P. Downey, as best man. The bridegroom's present to the bride was a cameo brooch, and to the bridesmaid a cameo bangle. The bride's present to the bridegroom was a gold sovereign case. After the ceremony a reception was given by th'e bride's parents in the Stafford tea rooms, Airs Murphy receiving the guests in a becoming gown of black chiffon taffeta, relieved wilth mauve, and a mauve and black toque. Later the happy couple left by motor en route for a tour of the North Island. Her very handsome, veil was arranged Dutch-cap style, with a wreath of orange blossoms. 'She carrieda magnificent shower bouquet of orchids, carnations, maiden hair, and asparagus fern. The bridesmaid' Aliss Violet Alartin, sister of the bridegroom, wore a beautiful frock of pale, blue crepe de chene, pretty little coatee and over skirt of blue ninon. A becoming pale • pink aeroplane hat, streamers to match, and posies of purple shaded Hydrangea, Mas worn. She carried a lovely shower bouquet of pale pink carnations, maiden hair, and asparagus. Air W. AleKechnie, brother of the bride, acted as best man. The breakfast M'as held at the residence of the bride's parents, a large number of relatives participating in the ceremony. Dr and Airs Douglas Alartin, left by the second express for Rofcorua., then to NgaruaM-ahia, Waipa County, where Dr. Douglas Alartin is to relieve Dr. Tait during his absence at the Front.
