A very suecessiul \ iolec and Spring P lower Day was held in Tiniaru on Saturday. .V I a rye number of ladies worked hard all day. .Beautiful blooms were received ironi Wau.uauui, Wellington. Duuediu. and Oaniaru, ami wen.- much admired. The work was Centred in a. well-decorated stall outside Hay's Buildings, where all the Mowers were made up into suitable bunches. The .sum. of .ilol was received ior J?ed Cross purposes, and a most excellent result. Alls .HunterAYeston and be;- band of workers are to be congratulated on their success. 'The Red Cross committee desire to thank all who contributed to the A'inlet Day effort.
A Violet Day at Tcmuka. organised by the I'resfn terian Young Women's Bible Class, resulted in £.'!> being collected. The money w j][ ]>,. used in tho purchase of material for bandages.
\ iolet T)ay at "Waimatc on Satui dav. in aid of the wounded soldiers fund, was fairly successful, between .Col} and £6O being raised.
