The Canterbury Steam Ship Company's steamer Calm arrived at Timaru early on Saturday from Wellington via Lvtieiton- She discharged a quantity of general cargo, and went on to southern ports. The Calm returns to Timaru again on Thursday to lead for Wellington and Wanganui. The John is thie on Wednesday with general cargo from Wellington. She leads produce for Wellington and "Wanganui, sailing in tho aiterncon via Lytteiton. The New Zealand Shipping _ Company's steamer Rotorua is busily engaged with her homeward joading operations, and is expected to sail on Ttcrsdav.

The Commonwealth and Dominion liner Xiwaru arrived late yesterday sfternoon from Lytteiton, and took up a berth at No. 3 wharf. Slie is loading 23,000 freight carcases of frozen meat, and is expected to sail to-ntOTTO v evening for W anganui roadstead and Napier. From tho latter port she goes across to Australian ports to till up for Ijondon. The Xiwaru was previously in Timaru four years ago. The Wanaka arrived yesterday afternoon from tho Bluff- She has general cargo to discharge, and fills up here ■with produce for Auckland. The "Wanaka is expected to earl lato tonight for Napier and Auckland. The Poherua is due at an early hour this morning from Westport direct, coal laden. She sails probably this evening for DunedinThe Kaiapoi is expected to leave Newcastle at any time now for Timaru direct, with a cargo of coal and superphosphate.

Tho Corinna is due to-morrow to load for Wellington and New Plymouth. The Shaw Savill and Albion liuor Arawa has left London for New Zealand ports, including Timaru. The Union Company's steamer W:?itomo should reach Timaru shortly from Calcutta via way ports.
