GERALDINE FLORAL SOCIETY.

ANNUAL MEETING. The annual mouting of tin's society took place oil Wednesday night, Colonel Moore presiding, and there being a satisfactory atteudauoe. The report mentioned that the l?o.s a Show had given a profit of £7 17s lid for tho Patriotic fluid. and the Summer Show ivas li.ghiv successful from a Horticultural point of view, but owing to some members having left ihe district and a fa, Ling off in receipts at the door their "credit balance had been reduced to £S Ss 4d. The judges were specially thanked for their good work. The balance islicet showed a deficit of £1 -Is ~fl after providing for £5 ds voted to the Patriotic Fund. In moving the adoption of the reportand balance sheet Col. Moore said that when outstanding subscriptions Mere received t'ney would still be &9 worse off than last year, and ho urged the securing of new members to strengthen the Society. He quoted the remarks of tho judges to indicate how successful their shows had been. Mr Patrick seconded the motion which was cat ried. Officers were then elected as follows: — President. Colonel Moore; Vice-Presi-dents. Dean Bowers, Messrs M. Campbell, G. H. Patrick, and C. W\ Gimson ; Secretary and Treasurer, Mr "\V. G. Wiil : :anit|; Committee, Per. Canon Hamilton, Messrs G. O'Neill, H. Somej-vil.'e, F. Wallach, .T. Pizzey. \\". C. Turner, 11. Turner. E. J. Smith; C. AV. S. Cox, 1"). Maegregor, .1. Chapman and H. F. Webster; Auditor, Mr Bannehr. -Mi - Campbell expressed tho opinion that tlie J lose Show might again lie held in conjunction with the ladies in aid of the Home- and Jilmpiro League and tiiis was agreed to. Mr Cox thought, both shows might he held for the same object, but it was understood that tlie committee would vote any profits from the Summer Show to nelp the Patriotic Fund. It was agreed to give the Royal Hortiicu.turai Society's Medals and certificates as in past years. On the motion of tlie President, Mr W. Thomas the retiring secretary was heartily thanked for his admirable sevvicts. and th nks were also accorded ret.vitig members of committee ;-.nd the committee as a whole for its good work. Co'onel Moore also received a cordial voie of appreciation of his tact and ability as President of the Soeietv.
