"A SCRAPE O' THE PEN."
The fascinating "Bunty" whom all playgoers learned to love during the String pulling season throughout New Zealand last year is to have a snet-es-sir in "A Strap© o' the Pen." .-a charming comedy of Scottish farm life which is to go' on at the Theatr" Boval here on Tuesday and Wodn-e'j-day. August 31 and September 1. The new play i.<-. described by the "Sydney Daiiy Telegraph" as far more than a sea-ape, it being an exquisitely carved raiiKo of a little community. The critic said: "There are many passages that tug at the heartstrings. Sometimes tears are very near to the surface, but the balance if veiy cleverly kept Oil the right side." Included in the caste for the New tion are no less than live artists new to the Dominion who have been specially brought out to play their ■origitiai parts. These include Miss I Margaret Noble (an ac-trcs:. who hns j been with Mr Moffat- ever since his ] lecturing days). Miss Matte McLcllan I (who plays the heioitie), il'.s:-; Ofrtio I Henderson (an E;:glMi lady among a. lor. of Scotch people). Mr Robert Purdip, (who portrays the wayward son), I and Mr Alec Hunter (the rugged mnnI ager of Honeyneuk Farm). Both Mr ■ and Mrs Moffat are pjaying their original parts of Mafctha and Leczis j Inglis respectively. The box plan I will open at the Bristol this morning.
