WAR TAXATION. BUDGET TO-NIGHT. (Fnoii Ocb Special Cobbespondent.; WELLINGTON, August 25. The Financial Statement will be deIh'ered to-morrow night. It will be found wlien the Government's intentions are stated that the war taxation is to bo spread over every section of the community able to contribute. The necessaries of life will not be taxed. There have been rumours of a possible import duty on tea, probably inspired by the knowledge that a war tax has been imposed on tea in England, but tho Government does not intend to tax tea here. Beer wjill be included in the taxation proposals. There will 1 be no 1 further tax on any kind of tobacco. Other new taxes will be levied on incomes, on laud, and on the totalizator. There will bo Customs taxation also, but nob on articles in common use by persons of slender income.
