ANN UAL COXFEK EXCE. A THRIVING ORGANISATION. (Per Press Association.) DUXEDIN. Feb. ID. Tho anuual eonier-ence of the United Commercial Travellers' Association ot New Zealand, was held to-day. Mr 1). McPherson presided, and ' delegates were present from the four centres. The annual report stated that a good deal of valuable, work had been done, during the year. Eighty-two association badges had been issued during the year. A't tho beginning of the year the roll stood as follows:—Financial membons, Auckland 30-1, Wellington 337, Christchureh 245. Dunedin 301, total 1310. The vear's revenue amounted to £T7B Os 7d. and the expenditure, to £lO-_' j9s ]d. leaving a •surplus for tho year of £7"> Is 3d. Report- and balance sheet were adopted. Delegates from various Associations rcport-ed on progress ma.do by the respective affiliated associations during tho year. The reports showed that all associations had made satisfactory progress. It was agreed to urge on members to patronise whenever possible the registered hotel of tho Association, and that associations bo recommended to take steps to recover old eertuieak-s from hotel proprietors, who were no longer on tho list It was agreed that it bo recommended to hotel keepers to take proper steps to safeguard the correspondence of travellers and to secure proper delivery. It was decided that, on advice from one association that a member has l:een_ posted as a defaulter, lie be refused all privileges by other associations. Also that an influential deputation wait on tho proper authority with a view to securing a concession in railway fares for bona fide travelThe following officers wore elected---President, Mr S. Orchard; treasurer. Mr J. N. Turnbull; auditor, Mr H. Bicknell: general secretary. Mir H. B. Gould. The next conference will be held in Christchurch.
