The <-ii!<i!ine!ii of :i special Colonial Infantry unit is rapidly proceeding.
FOOTBALL AND RECRUITING.
Lord Stamfordham, in response to a letter from a gentleman who is conducting a campaign against football during the war, said that the doings of tho Football Associations would bo carefully followed, having regard to tho King's position as its patron. Tho Football Association has informed tho War Office that it is prepared to request all members to stop matches if the War Office considers that doing so would assist recruiting.
RUDYARD KIPLING'S WARNING
LONDON, Sept. S. Mr Rudyard Kipling, speaking at a recruiting meeting, said Germany's real objective was England—her wealth, her trade, and her possessions. England must arm to oppose the fate of becoming a second rate power.
