Cheese.—Market very firm. Canadian, firm, white or coloured 74s to 765; Nov.- Zealand, offerings very small, white or coloured, 70s to 745. Canadian stocks on Ist September at London, Liverpool and Bristol wero 192,000 boxes against 255,000 at the same time last year. -Now Zealand cheese stocks on Ist Sept-ember in London and Bristol were 3600 crates, against 2800 on the same time last year. Wheat is firm, with an upward tendency. Australian 46s c.i.f.; flour, 35s ex store. The Government is buying oats, for which the market is quiet, but there is no reduction in prices. Gartons 32s ex st-ore. The market for peas is quiet, with small business doing. New Zealand peas (partridge) per 5041b 525, (blue) 625. The market for beans is weak and inactive. New Zealands f.a.q. (new* crop) per 5041b 375. Hemp.—The market is unsettled and quotations nominally unchanged. Inquiries are now being made for tow of second grade quality at £l4 for 6pot; and for July to September at £l3 10s. Wool.—The market remains firm for all grades of medium and coarse crossbreds, but shows signs of weakness for mqrinos and all grades of fine crossbreds. Current Bradford quotations for tops arc 36's low crcssbreds loUl; 40's low crossbreds, lojjd; 44's medium crossbreds, 16d; 50's lialfbrwls 19-id ; 56's quovtcrbreds, 28$ d; ,60's merinos.. 29id. THE LOCAL MARKETS. Wheat- lias gone up in price again. Tuscan has been 'sold at 4s= lOd on trucks, country stations, and 5s has been offered for good lines of Velvet and Red Chaff, on trucks. The oat market is firm at 2s 4d for A grade, and 2s 3d for B. grade, on trucks. Very few oats are offering. Oati'heaf chaff is worth £3 per ton, on trucks, country stations.
