A REPORTKIt who mailt a tew inquiries yesterday regarding the way in which commercial firms regard the present situation was told l>v the firm of ADAMS LTD. that so far as they were concerned, although shipments wero a bit uncertain at present, they had no fears for the future. Thoro was a prospect that tho cycle and cyclo component manufactories will in the near future hav<> their activities limited to the making of munitions of war, bnt ADAMS LTD., so far from raising prices in view of a probablo scarcity of supplies, are positively REDUCING PRICES. JUST RECKXTLY the firm held a big Stocktaking Sale, during which, in order to reduce rather heavy stocks, especially low prices were quoted. For instance, tho prico of the Swift Bicycle was reduced by £3; tho Star, the bicycle which has made this big firm's reputation, had its price reduced by a simitar amount. Tho Triumph was reduced to £'l2 10s, and tho Juvenile Star, the best equipped and most efficient juvenile machine ever introduced to New Zealand, with its frco wheel, steel mudguards, and rim brake, has been reduced from £7 10s to j£o ss. In tho domain tho stocktaking schedule of prices still reigns, and reductions of between 30 and 60 per cent, are quoted on atl lines.
