ESTIMATES TO-MORROW. 2STO EMERGENCY' LEGISLATION. (From Ocn Special Cokresfondent. j WELLINGTON, Sept. 2. The Prime Minister informed a reporter to-day that the House would probably be asked to deal with tlie Estimates 011 1 ucsday night. He added that he did not t.'unk it would be necessary to introduce any emergency legislation with the exception of a few amendments to remedy defects in the Acts a'.rtadv passed. Mono, of tlie amendments would be serious or important. FOOD PRICES COMMISSION. The Commission recently set up to regulate the prices of foodstuffs and other commodities in common use is still sitting in Wellington, and will remain here for some days. It is probable that the members will go to Christehurch before the end of the week. At present they are considering the prices of wheat, flour, and bread. NOTES LEGAL TENDER. Per Press Association. A Gazette Extraordinary, dated Friday last, extends the, period during which notes of banks doing business in New Zealand shall bo legal tender to October 7th next, inclusive.
