RIFLE CLUBS.
RESIGNATIONS PROHIBITED. At the meeting of the Temuka Riflo. Club held last Friday a. letter was read from one who as a member: liad been notified of the meeting; and requested to attend. This man repudiated membership. on the ground that he had not paid his subscription and had not attended any meetings held. Mr 15. P. Pridha.ni. commenting on tlie letter, said that for failure to pay his subscription a member could be struck off the roll but once a. man had been sworn in he had to accept the responsibilities of membership' as long as li"s name remained on the roll, whether he paid his subserintinn or not. It appeared that the Defence Department meant to insist, upon old members meeting their obligations, and wlv'le new members could be enrolled resignations could not be enterainod.
