The four members of the Tcmuka Road Board and those supporting them did not doem it necessary to give evidence against the Bill, and contented thornselves with forwarding a petition bearing the signatures of ratepayers representing a large proportion of the capital value of tho Temuka Road District. The capital value of that dis- i trict is one-half of that of the whole county. Copies of the resolutions passed at meetings of ratepayers held at To—i'k:i in t' ,r> question were also sent.
