CAPTAIN COOK MEMORIAL.

UN VEIL I X G CER E.> I.OX Y. An effort is being made to get Admiral King-Hall to unveil the memorial to Captain Cook at Snip Cove, Queen Charlotte. Sound, next month. "i be flagship (H.M..S. Another tablet Mill, bear the date on which the, memorial was completed, and the inscription (in English, of course) on the two remaining tablets will read as follows:—"To this cove Captain Cook made five visits while navigating the globe. Oil this beach he erected tents for his invalided sailors, and from this stream he watered his vessels." "Cook's visits. On board the Endeavour, 18th May to 7th June, 1173; 3rd November to 25th November, 1773; 18th October to 10th November, 177!; 12th February to 25th February, 1777." The tablets have been prepared by Mr W. J. Helve;-, of Wellington, who has also been entrusted with the work of inscribing them.
