The Board adopted this recommendation. Mr D. Fyfe wrote offering to 'et the Board have stone from his Gleniti quarry. The weather during the month had been change- ' able, -strong easterly and northerly w : nds with occasional heavy seas being experienced. ENGINEER'S REPORT. * Tho resident engineer reported that ■ IS loads (13,000 tons) had been discharged from inside the harbour from December 18th to January 20th inchisivo. The Christmas ' and New Year holidays had been kept, henco the dredging period had been limited. The weather had not been favourable to work in the uuter channel. AYhile shifting the moorings outside on the 3rd in-t., the after-moorings carried away and though two days had been spent by Dredge No. 350, so far they ' had not been recovered, the weather being unfavourable since the last attempt to recover them. Dredge No. ' 350 would proceed to Port Chalmers on the 31st inst. for overhaul. The Tauiivha had been engaged almost entirely in the vicinity of the fish jetty. A ' blast was fired at the quarry on tho o*h ; -ust. Tho blast dislodged some ' 14,000 to 15,000 tons of stone.
