REGRADING OF STREETS.
To the Editor of '-Timaru Herald." Sir,—l noticed in your paper this morning, in the report of last night's meeting of the Borough Council, some recommendations made by tlie committee. One that I am sure the residents of Maltby Avenue, Rathiaore, Ranfurly, and Onslow streets will strongly object. to is, allowing the metal to bo carted away from those streets and used for making other streets gcod. AVhy rob Peter to p;iy Paul? Can the metal taken off those streets not be laid aside and used to re-metal the same streets after they are re-graded? We liavo only to look at Raymond and some of the other regraded streets and see what a mess they aro in by having a lot of .shingle carted on to them. Trusting the committee will see their way clear to act on the above "suggestion beforo it be too late.—l am, etc., ANTI-SHINGIiE.
