CHARLES TENNYSON DICKENS. Press Association—By Tel.—Copyright. NEW YORK, Jan. 3. A.lfred Tennyson Dickens, a son of Charles Dickens, ha;s died hero. Ho was seized with an acute attack of indigestion during a lecture tour. He was taken ill on Monday night in a lecture hall, aud was removed to his hotel, where be recovered temporarily. Ho was preparing to go to Kingston to fulfil an engagement, wlion he was overcome. No funeral arrangements will be made until a decision is arrived at by his relatives in Melbourne.

Mrs Birchficld, wife of the licensee of tho Saltwater Creek hotel, suddenly yesterday afternoon. Much sympathy will go to Mr Birchfield in his bereavement, and regret will bo felt by the decc-nsed's numerous friends. Mrs Birchfield leaves a young family. An inquest will bo held today.
