ANNUAL MEETING.. The thirteenth annual general Hitting of tho Mackenzie Agricultural Pastoral Association was hold i> t KY.irlio on Monday, thero .being a good attendance of niembors, over wnich Mr A. S. The. new Show ground was teased for. grazing in November last, for a period, of 18 months n't a very satisfactory rental. The Committee also proposed approaching the managers of the Athletic Grounds with the intention of getting their consent to suitable eommun.catioii 'being'established between the_ two grounds."' If this could be dono.it was their idea to have the sheep and cattle yards permanently erected in their own ground and to continue to have the horse rings in the sports' grounds. No arrangement had been come to so far, but the committee hoped that the matter would be kept in -vjew. The thanks of the Society were due to all •who supported the show by giving special prizes and donations to the pnw I fund, and to the judges and class stewards, who gave so much time and troublo-to their duties, and the committee again invited tho hearty..cooperation of all members to further m everv way the interests of the Society. S Treasurer (Mr 0. Talbot) presented the statement of accounts, and compared the figures with, those,of last vear. The net increase in the receipts totalled £ls 15s'9d. The gate money reached a record figure, amounting to 490. The expenditure had increased sli"htVv since last year, and the* actual working of the show gave a profit of £7O, as against £55 15s the previous year. All tho main items of receipts showed a satisfactory increase, over previous years. Tho President, in moving the adoption of the annual reports, dwelt at length.- on the satisfactory position of the Society., It had, come to stay, and was of immense bjr.efit to iihe district •in manv wavs. Tho hist show was favoured .with fine weather,, and the judging, was finished earlier than, usual. 'He outlined several suggested improvements in the Show Ground, and said that the Athletic 'Grounds had become too small for show purposes. The Society's own ground adjoining the Sports' Grounds ' would have to be utilised', in part at any rate, and an endeavour should be made to get access from the Sports Grounds. to tho Society's own property, in order that the =,how might be held partly on each ground. , .■Mr F. R. Gillingham briefly seconded the motion, winch was. carried unanimously. GENERAL. Correspondence was read from Mr A. E. Gillingham, offering a cup valued £2 2s for the best dairy cow to be won three times in succession, or four times at intc-ivals beforo becoming the pro- , perty of an exhibitor. Mr J. S. Rutherford returned tfie cheque' forwarded to him for prizes won at the last show, and asked that the amount be placed to the Society's funds.—The donation was received with . thanks. . Mr Loekhead also presented the Association with the amount of his expenses .is judge. Caskey, manage: s of the Athletic attended. t>be meeting to discuss the question of giving access to the new show grounds through the Athletic Grounds. After full dscussion it was agreed that the Ground Committee meet the managers at an early date on the grounds, and decide what is is best to be done. Mr F. .Gillingham said that there should be no clashing of interests m thg matter. The Association possessed over 200 members representing fully 1000 people, in the district and ibis number includes a big proportion of the residents. The election of-officers then took place. In vacating the chair. Mr Smith thanked members and \ officers for the hearty manner in which they ■ had supported him during his year of office. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. A vote of thanks was passed to the retiring pres.dent and to the treasurer, Mr C. 3. Talbot. On the motion of Messrs Smith and Partisan, Mr W. Bray was elected President for tho ensuing year. Mr R. A. Dixon was appointed vice-presi-dent, Mr C. Talbot was re-elected treasurer, and the following management committee was appointed: Messrs A. Archibald, W. Ardeu, I. Battiso-i, J. Bray, H. Breen, A. R. Busheil, J. Davidson, A. L. Dobson, J. Goodwin, W. Gidd.ngs, F. R. Gillincham. R. Irving, O. Isitt, W. Orbell, Ed<r,ar Jones, H. Thomas, J. Trotter, J. Wills, B. Wright, W. Wreford, W. Robertson, A. E. Gillingliam, A. S. Smith and R. Donaldson. The resignation of Mr C. lludd from the Committee, was accepted with regret. Mr McCaskill was re-elected audit-c----at the remuneration of £1 Is, and the. following were appointed a Ground Committee:—Messrs Goodwin, J. Kitten, W. Bray, R. A. Dixon, and F. it. Gillingham. It was decided to contribute £5 towards the cost of a typewriter for the l use of the secretarv. f MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The annual meeting then terminted and a meeting of the newly-appointed ! committee was held imediately after- I wards. Mr G. C. Martin was unanimously rc-olected secretary. _ , It was agreed that all entries must 'be the property of the exhibitors at the time of entry.
