Caledonian" concert. The St. Andrews Caledonian Society liold its annual concert, in the Public Hall on Thuivday'evening. Tua night was exceptionally fine, an<l tli-ero wis a large attendance. The programme waa long and varied, including sung.;, j Scutch and Irish step dances, and I sleight-of-hand tricks by a Timaru e:> 1 pert. Mr Geo. Lyall acted as chairman, and introduced the performers. The "Wainia.te Pipe Band was present, and played come pieces, and also furnished pipe musifc [or Highland and other dances. The vocal entertainers were:—Mrs Foxon, Misses and 13. Emory, and Messrs W. McHrido. P. Hunter, Jordan, Crawford and Wallace, -whose names gnaranteee that that part of the programme was in good hands. Stepdanoes were given as follows:—U-00l o' Tulloch and Highland Reel, Milne family; Sean Triuhha's and sword dances, Misses F. Milne and F. Emory; Highland Fl'.n;!, Miss B. Emerylrish reel and Irish hornpipe, Messrs Sullivan and McCarthy; Sa.]ors ? hornpipe, Masters Nicholis and Km pry; conjuring tricks. Mr P. Coinnn. The dances therefore were also assured of success ho forehand. 41 God Save the Tving" closed a very enjoyable entertainment. After the concert, the hail was cleared and several hours were pleasantly spent in danc-mg, under the guidance of Mr G. Smith, and excellent music was supplied by Stanley's Band.
