The Friendly Societies Bill was committed and i snorted with immaterial amendment. Mr Millar moved the second reading of the Patents, Designs and- Trade Marks Bill. There was. he said, a •general desire for uniform'ity of the lawdealing -with patents throughout the Empire, and New Zealand was behind other countries with regard to patent laws, and he would give full particulars of the BUI in committee, when, the diiie.ent clauses could be dealt with. Ihe Bill.was read a second time. Mr Si. Mckenzie moved tho second reading of the Stone Quarries Amendment Bill, allowing one hour instead of three after a shot, and making technical alterations. Tile Bill was ren dread a seond time. The House then discussed the Racine Commission's report. .
