SYDNEY, June' 29. • The Government has accepted the first order for bricks made at the State works, whioh has undertaken to supply a hundred thousand at twentysix shillings a thousand, which is nearly £1 cheaper than the combine's price. Tlie manager hopes to reduce this price by five to seven shillings when a complete plant is erected. NEW HEBRIDES. Mails from the New Hebrides report that matters continue in a verv unsatisfactory and disturbed state.
