HIGH PRICES FOR ROMNEYS. Per Press Assooiation. INVICRC ARC*ILL, March 22. One of the most important sheep sales held of recent years :n Southland • was carried out to-day at Birchwood > estate, on account of the owner (Mr A W. Rodger) haying subdivided the property into .dairy farms, and accordingly disposing of tho sheep stock. There were 6707 Romney cross flock owes and lambs, 1409 fitud Romney rams, eivea and lamb.* submitted. an<l th«- popularity of tlio breed was ahown by a large attendance of agriculturists' from various parts of the South Island and by tlio spirited hiding. Produced a total of £6893 for sheep, in addition to £l4B for horses.
