From Messrs Tripp and RolJeston. on behalf of the Ocean Accident and Guarantee Corporation, stating that they admitted no liability in respect to the fatal accident to the late John McAuliffe on 2nd January;— Received. From the Commissioner of Crown Lands re the Council's occupation of Kr-servc 168. The Mayor said that he would take steps to see what could be done to vest the land in the Council. From this Department of. Lands,, asking the Council to accept reappointment as the Temuka Domain Poard.—Agreed to. From the Wai'mate Borough Council re sharing auctioneers' licenses by the County Councils.—The clerk was instructed to write to tho Auctioneers' Association 'that there should be a division of the fees in the boroughs in which the auctioneers do business. ■ REPORTS. , The Finance Committee .reported as follows:—Oustandiug' rates, £47 IBS lid; rents outstanding, £.s2'lis; receipts from all sources, £57 15s; credit balances, district fund account' £784 18s 2d; drainage extension, £7O G-> lid.—Accounts amounting to £136 7?. (3d were passed for payment. The overseer's report was read and adopted. _lt- was decided to grant a subsidy or £ls to the Temuka Band. In committee accounts were for payment as follows—Tomuka.
