THE MARINE BAND.

ANNUAL MEETING, The sixth annual meeting of the Timaru Marine Band on Wednesday evening was attended by twenty members, Air F. C. Watson presiding. The annual report and balance-sheet were read and adopted. These showed that the amount owing on instruments was £322 13 9d." Only £8 3s was received from engagements during the year. Receipts totalled £241 8s lOd, including balance from last year £25, end* net proceeds of Fancy Fete and Carnival £9B 18s 9d. Craig, temporary secretary, Mr Battersby, committee (civilians) Messrs S. R. Burns. A. Beck A M. Patterson, and Izzard, (bandsmen). Messrs Booth, Craig. Bezzant', Davidson, Chiles and Gledhill. It was resolved that each bandsman should contribute £1 a- year to the band funds, and that there should be no payment to bandsmen for engagements.
