HIGH SCHOOL BOARD.

MONTHLY MEETi-NO. The monthly meeting ol the Timar't High school Beard was held 111 the hoard - >ooui yesterday. Present — Messrs TV. B. Howell (.chairman). K. H. Bowie, J. Bitchener. G. V,*. Dash, who was recommended for appointment to the Board by the AYaimate County Council as successor to Mr Moore, was formally welcomed to tlio Board table. BEI'OTiTS. The headmaster, Mr G. A. Simmers, reported that the roll number was ■-!, tile same as at the end of last term. The school re-opened on September •Jittli. and the work was going on well. He enclosed a table showing the number i)i' candidates for the various end of the year examinations:—University scholarship 3, matriculation 12, civil service senior 1, civil service junior 4. Education Board senior scholarship s. senior free places 13, junior free places 6—47; total number of candidates 44, which formed a very high percentage of the school roil. She applied for the usual grants for prices, and al-o lor a grant for games. Hoth reports were adooted, and it was deckled to give the sum of £25 1»v wards the purchase of prizes Vol' hoth schools, and towards the Games Club of the Girls' School. it was iurther agreed that now and in future the Board shonld pay the cost of the dux medals of both schools up to the value of -So. RESERVES.
